The Octagon House Museum will host the 12th annual Civil War Encampment on Sunday, July 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Encampment is a free event is open to the public. This family friendly event will be held on the Octagon House Museum’s south lawn at 1004 Third Street in Hudson, WI.
Experience the Civil War with the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Company B “Prescott Guards” who will be camped on the south lawn of the Octagon House Museum sharing stories and showing weapons and supplies.
The Encampment will include an Ice Cream Social fundraiser. Historical society staff will serve ice cream cups and baked goods. Mini tours of the museum are available, and a display Civil War era collection pieces.
Free-will donations are greatly appreciated for mini-tours, snacks and activities!
Please practice social distancing, please use a face covering for the safety of others and remember – No touching of display items will be permitted.
The Encampment will include an Ice Cream Social fundraiser which will feature ice cream, floats, sundaes, and homemade baked goods. There will be a demonstration and free samples of old-fashioned hand-cranked ice cream.
The Museum Gift Shop, located in the Carriage House, features items for the home and garden, and Victorian inspired gifts. The Gift Shop is open to the public during special events and regular tour hours.
